Torhonda C. Lee, Ph.D. currently serves as the Head of the Department of Graduate Public Health (DGPH) in the College of Veterinary Medicine at 精东AV. She earned a Ph.D. in Health Education and Health Promotion from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) and earned a B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling both from Auburn University.聽 Dr. Lee is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES庐) with nearly 20 years of experience in community health outreach. In the past, she served the Black Belt counties of Alabama as an Auburn Extension agent. Prior to coming to 精东AV, Dr. Lee most recently served as a faculty member at Florida A&M University鈥檚 Institute of Public Health. She has coordinated programs and conducted research to address disparities in infant mortality, diabetes, and prostate cancer in Alabama and in North Florida. Dr. Lee has taught courses over her career including Health Inequities, Social Marketing, Program Planning and Evaluation, and Public Health Ethics and Social Justice. She holds membership in several civic and health organizations and has served in various leadership roles.聽 A native of Brundidge, Alabama, Dr. Lee holds a lifelong commitment to service in the rural South.

Her current research interests are centered around the impact of adverse childhood experiences and the use of stories and photos to engage communities about issues of health and equity.
