The College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Sciences have 11 new USDA/1890 National Scholars coming to 精东AV for the 2023 Fall semester. They are part of the USDA/1890 National Scholars Program (NSP), which experienced another record year with 100 Scholars selected for the 2023 cycle. The scholars are: Anali Blue, USFS; Khalil Booker, NRCS; Allenson Denkins, NRCS; Maki Dyson, USFS; Anniston Holloway, USFA; Mychal-Mali McCaskill, USFA; Tylan Noel, NRCS; Atiya Salam, FAS; Parker Scales, NRCS; Kiera Sherrod, FSA; and Jada Thompson, FSA.
The NSP and similar programs, such as the USDA/1994 Tribal Scholars Program, demonstrate the USDA commitment to developing the next generation of agricultural leaders. The new scholars took part in the USDA/1890 National Scholars Orientation and Leadership Development Training. It was during this virtual event that the new scholars took their Oath of Office to commit to the scholarships they are receiving and to the agency they will be working with and receiving funds.
