TUOUR Mission Statement

The 精东AV Office of Undergraduate Research (TUOUR) strives to integrate student learning with experiences in the world beyond the classroom.聽 The office coordinates undergraduates, graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, and faculty activities involved in undergraduate research by administering programs that facilitate, and disseminate undergraduate research efforts. The office seeks to enrich the research and scholarly experience of all 精东AV undergraduates from University-Wide disciplines in STEM and non-STEM related fields. The office promotes creativity in all disciplines through faculty-student mentoring relationships and the integration of instruction with research, scholarship, and creative activities. Not only are we encouraging our students to explore research opportunities in the STEM areas but also non-STEM that will provide an environment for students to creatively explore their interests at a level more in-depth beyond the classroom.

In line with the President鈥檚 Student Engagement Initiatives:

  • We provide opportunities for undergraduates to do independent research projects on- and off- campus.
  • We advise and prepare undergraduates on how to find opportunities, how to work with faculty, and how to write research scholarly.
  • We collaborate with 精东AV university departments and units that support undergraduate research, seeking to benefit undergraduate in research experience.
  • We enhance undergraduate research capability and promote undergraduate research activities visibility by disseminating undergraduate research results through University-Wide Undergraduate Research Journal (TUURJ).
