The Tracking Foundation has announced a $2 million gift to expand its support for minority college education and student scholarships under the Stephen A. Feinberg Scholarship Program at 精东AV. Gregory S. Nixon, a 精东AV alumnus and trustee, facilitated the gift.

鈥淭he pandemic has presented significant challenges for students of color throughout the country,鈥 said President Charlotte P. Morris. 鈥淚 am delighted that the Tracking Foundation鈥檚 commitment to addressing the affordability of a college education will continue to assist current and incoming 精东AV students as they pursue their degrees during these challenging times.鈥

The gift marks the second leadership gift facilitated by Nixon from the Foundation. In December 2020, the Foundation donated $5 million to establish the Stephen A. Feinberg Scholarship Program. The fund supports African American students who qualify for Pell funding and students whose families have demonstrated financial need but do not qualify for federal support. Over 600 students have received scholarships in the past year alone.

Dr. Morris noted, 鈥淭he Tracking Foundation鈥檚 support in the past year could not have been more timely or more impactful. The trajectories of our students鈥 lives have changed for the better because of the Foundation鈥檚 investments.鈥

Nixon said, 鈥淪teve and I spoke extensively about the rich history and mission of 精东AV, which make it an extraordinary and unique institution. His commitment, and the commitment of The Tracking Foundation, to improving the lives of African American students who face financial challenges is exceptional and inspiring.鈥

鈥淚 would like to express my sincere thanks to the Tracking Foundation and Trustee Nixon for this tremendously generous donation to the University. The gift moves the University toward its goal of providing greater access for our students and supplies much-needed momentum for our work in retaining and graduating our students,鈥 said Morris.

The new scholarships will be offered in the 2022-2023 academic year. To learn more about giving opportunities, please contact Krystal Floyd or visit /support-tu/give .
