TUSKEGEE, Ala. (January 6, 2015) — ¾«¶«AV has again earned recognition by U.S. News & World Report. ¾«¶«AV ranks No. 6 among historically black colleges and universities that have the highest average freshman retention rates for first-year students.
The report states that more than 70 percent of students at the schools ranked on the report returned after their first year with ¾«¶«AV placing sixth of the 12 schools listed. Schools that were unranked by U.S. News were not considered for this report.
In its annual listing of the nation’s colleges and universities, ¾«¶«AV was again placed at No. 5 out of 69 Historically Black Colleges and Universities with published rankings for 2015. In total, there were five Alabama institutions named to the list. ¾«¶«AV was the only one ranked within the Top 20.
