Motivational speaker to share message of overcoming obstacles during Feb. 26 Lyceum Series event

Described as a 鈥渧isual speaking experience,鈥 Atlanta-based attorney Patricia Russell-McCloud will share her engaging, highly substantive and well-researched speaking style with students on Tuesday, Feb. 26 as part of 精东AV鈥檚 continuing Lyceum Series.

During her 6 p.m. program in the University Chapel, she will demonstrate why her 鈥渂ig, broad and animated鈥 speaking style and positive message leaves her audiences eager for more.

For the past 20-plus years, Russell-McCloud has toured the lecture circuit as a motivational speaker. She encourages her audiences to surmount every obstacle that stands between them and the possible. Her clients have included national nonprofit organizations, government entities, Fortune 500 companies 鈥 and everything in between. Each engagement has left audiences benefiting from her informed, inspirational wisdom and wit.

A native of Indianapolis, Russell-McCloud graduated from Kentucky State University before earning a law degree from Howard University鈥檚 School of Law. Before beginning her professional speaking career, she was an attorney with the Federal Communications Commission鈥檚 Complaints Branch for 10 years.

  • Thursday, Mar. 14: Dr. Randall Horton, an award-winning poet who also will serve as the Department of Modern Languages, Communication and Philosophy鈥檚 Spring 2019 Ellison Lecturer; time 3 p.m., Brimmer Hall Auditorium
     
  • Saturday, Apr. 6: Dr. Paul Kwami, director of choral activities at Fisk University and the university鈥檚 2019 Dawson Institute Lecturer; 1 p.m. Lecture, University Chapel; 6 p.m. Concert, Logan Hall
