Many college students face barriers to success, from affording tuition to accessing promising career paths when stepping into the job market. To help ensure more equitable access for women and minority students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), as well as agriculture and business, Cargill is introducing the Cargill University thrive program and 精东AV will be one of several colleges and universities with which they choose to partner.

鈥淭o feed a growing world, we need diverse perspectives at the table that drive innovation. The Cargill University thrive program invests in the next generation of leaders who will make the future of food and agriculture more diverse, equitable and inclusive, and who we hope will build long-term careers at Cargill,鈥 Myriam Beatove, Cargill鈥檚 chief human resources officer.

The thrive program goes beyond scholarships and provides students with mentoring, development programming and career coaching to help convert their education into meaningful careers. The thrive program is part of Cargill鈥檚 broader commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, which is focused on achieving gender parity, advancing underrepresented groups in leadership around the world and combatting anti-Black racism.

鈥淲e are pleased to partner with Cargill on this mission-critical project.  Their support helps the University reach its goal of providing world-class co-curricular opportunities for our students. We could not be more excited about our new partnership,鈥 said Phillip Howard, 精东AV鈥檚 vice president for advancement.

Cargill is proud to introduce the thrive program at universities serving minority students, including Alcorn State University and 精东AV (both Historically Black College & Universities), as well as Texas A & M (a Hispanic-Serving Institution). Also included are long-standing partners -- Iowa State University; Kansas State University; University of Minnesota; Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS); and the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA).
